Ever notice that what used to work for your body… suddenly doesn’t?
Our metabolism changes as we age. What worked in our 20s and 30s to manage weight and energy doesn’t always serve us in our 40s and beyond.
Throw in the hormonal shifts of perimenopause, and it can feel impossible to figure out what’s going on.
Skip a few meals and the kilos will drop. Do an extra spin class to balance out a big weekend. Run further to make up for missed workouts. That used to work… but not anymore.
And just like we can’t “make up” for a week of poor sleep with one big sleep-in, we can’t undo the effects of regular poor eating or drinking habits with one or two days of being “good.”
Consistency, Not Perfection
Here’s the truth: the key to maintaining your health in your 40s and beyond isn’t perfection—it’s consistency.
One indulgence won’t undo your progress. But consistent over-indulgence? That’s when weight creeps in, energy crashes, inflammation spreads, and sleep stops being restorative.
What Does Consistently Healthy Look Like?
It’s not complicated. It’s the small, repeated habits that add up:
✅ Three balanced meals daily (think veggies, wholegrains, fruit, protein, and healthy fats like olive oil)
✅ Plenty of water (around 35ml per kg of body weight is a good guide)
✅ 7–9 hours of quality sleep
✅ Mostly whole foods
✅ Daily movement (with strength training 2–3 times per week)
The more consistently you weave these into your routine, the better you’ll feel.
When Your Body Pushes Back
Here’s what happens when we don’t.
When work, family, and commitments always come first… when we rely on takeaway to survive the week… when a glass or three of wine becomes the stress reliever of choice… our body eventually pushes back.
At first, it whispers: joint aches, bloating, headaches, irritability, poor sleep.
Ignore the whispers, and they grow louder until one day you realise—you can’t remember the last time you truly felt well.
So, Where Do You Start?
Sometimes you just need a simple reset—a meal plan to get you back on track.
Sometimes it’s permission to put yourself first.
And sometimes it’s a fully personalised Metabolic Balance® plan designed around the exact foods your body needs to heal.
Wherever you’re starting from, the first step is the same: consistency.
If you’re ready to feel like yourself again, I’d love to help.
